Home Jesus!

You know that old saying "Home, James!"??
It's a phrase I use all the time when the kids ask "Where are we going now?"
I reply "Home, James."

Yesterday I dropped Kaila off at her friends house. Sean and Brett were with me.
Sean says "Where are we going now?"
I said "Home."

Sean replies back "Home, Jesus!"

Well, it started with a "J", right?
They do keep me entertained.

Let's play BALL!!

Your pictures and fotos in a slideshow on MySpace, eBay, Facebook or your website!view all pictures of this slideshow

It all started when Michael comes around the corner with Sean and Brett....they decided they were going to play baseball right in front of the girls. The girls being myself, Kaila and our neighbors Halle Caroline and Ellison. They were doing their nails on the front porch and I was just catching up on what to expect when Sean gets into 2nd grade!
Sean was first up to bat, however he was holding the bat all wrong! Next thing you know Halle Caroline AND Ellison were showing him how to hold the bat....we were quite impressed because they held it just like a real baseball player. (not bad for a couple of girls : )
Well, then it was game on...

We each took turns. The rules were simple. 3 misses/strikes at anytime or if someone catches your ball you were OUT OF THERE!
I think we ended up playing for 2 hours. I had alot of fun but I have to admit I catch and throw like a girl. But hitting a baseball (well soft plastic ball with a broken down plastic bat) felt nice! I'll probably be sore tomorrow, as my body doesn't handle any form of exercise well : )
I enjoyed playing with the neighbor kids....well until Brooks comes out and starts catching all my balls and making me get out! (but he was the only one with real baseball experience.) We forgot to get pictures of him. He did a great job on catching the ball....the little stinker. They were all great, funny and played so well. I had a great time---thanks for playing with us!

A New Year, A New You!

I say this every year!
I get the organizing bug in me. But over the weekend, the bug got into my husband! He spent all weekend reorganizing my pantry. For those of you who know me, I have a HUGE pantry.
I got a little annoyed at first because it made a big mess but once he was finally done, I could see his logic. So now I'm just fully appreciative of what he did. Now when I want to make spaghetti, he has my spaghetti sauce next to my pasta and my pesto. He has the refried beans next to the taco shells etc.

While he gutted out the pantry, I cleared out all the drawers in the kitchen. Tossed out pens and markers that no longer work and threw away unwanted items. I finished the boys room and closet too. We had the entire family working on something this weekend. Out with old and in with new!
We still have a long ways to go but I will be a happier person once it's all done, organized and what I call semi-feng shui!
The kids will love it too. I simply cleaned the refridgerator and they ooh and aaahh'd over that! (actually one of them said it looked like we had been robbed because there was hardly anything left in the fridge when I was done :)

Zales - The Diamond Store says....

Love Rocks! I'll have to agree. I want to brag a little (actually a lot) on my wonderful husband and kids. Yesterday was my birthday. But the celebration started on Friday.

I get an email from my husband with a menu attachment. The menu was for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. There were several choices to choose from. He made sure to list all my favorite foods and if I couldn't decide I could put "Mike and Kids decide".

Friday night Mike took me out to eat to our new favorite spot "The Corner Stone Bakery." Just the two of us! I got my first birthday present - a membership to Costco. I was thrilled! I had been wanting one for a long time. So that was perfect!

Saturday morning I was spoiled with breakfast, lunch, dinner and a chocolate cake....all made by Mike!
Sean and Brett made several cards for me and 2 bracelets. One said "MOM" and the other said "WE LOVE YOU". They even glow in the dark : )

Kaila and Brandon went and picked out a new pajama top. It is so cute and looks exactly like something I'd wear!

Michael gave me a digital photo frame. I had been wanting to get one for HIM for his office, so he purchased one for me and one for him. PERFECT!

Then my last surprise was a huge box. I opened it and inside was another box. I had no idea what it was (that is very rare with me....I usually know about all my gifts! I was clueless on all my gifts this year.) I got a new Cell Phone! Which I love, love, love! The kids chipped in on this too.

Sunday I got breakfast, lunch and dinner made for me again! Love does Rock!
We hung out around the house playing Wii most of the day.

On Monday, which was my actual birthday (37 years old now). Michael took the day off. I was not expecting anything on my actual birthday because I had everything over the weekend. But Michael took the kids to school for me, I got lunch made for me, and a warm blanket as a gift (Sean and Brett got soft, soft blankets for Christmas and I was saying I really wanted one.....so my husband listens very well!)
Then we all went out to Chili's for dinner (my other favorite place to eat.)

Poor Michael has had a hurt back all week but still managed to make my birthday a very special one. He did have to make a trip to the Chiropractor on Monday... twice! Then ice his back with a bag of peas LOL.

So yes Zales.....LOVE does indeed ROCK! (Speaking of ROCKS....I got a beautiful new ring for Christmas from http://www.zalesoutlet.com/ from my wonderful husband : )
Thanks to Michael, Kaila, Brandon, Sean and Brett for loving me the way you do...you made my birthday the best I've ever had. I didn't even mind turning 37!

Brett says the cutest things....

Last night Brett and Brandon were wrestling. Brett of course is probably the most aggressive boy in the family, so he was really into it.
Brandon said in his "wrestling voice" .....Boy, you want me to get on top of you!
And proceeds to dog pile Brett.

Brett in his "wrestling voice" said ....Oh yeah....you want me to sloppy joe you!

I'm sitting at the computer listening to it all and had to chuckle at what Brett thought Brandon was saying to him. Michael said it was a blogging moment : )

Gingerbread Train

My best friends mom (yes, her mom....how sweet was that?) sent the kids a Gingerbread Train for Christmas. They have been waiting for over a week to work on it. Well the day has finally come. It's cold and wet outside, all the presents are done and all neighbor and office gifts have been distributed. So, now it's time for some fun! (Brandon was out with friends today, so he may be a little unhappy with us....but in this house, you snooze, you lose : )

THANK YOU LEAH for sending this thoughtful and wonderful gift to the kids. They loved it!

We caught her!

Kaila decided to go outside last night to test out her electric scooter. She put on her Dad's OSU jacket (one she swore she'd never be caught wearing) and off she went. Well of course her dad saw the jacket and was like "WHERE'S THE CAMERA??!!"

Michael wasn't letting go until we got the picture! Doesn't she look like she should be going to OSU right now? She is getting so tall!

ME? SUPERWOMAN....

.....probably not.

Because a superwoman wouldn't get stressed out over all the things she has to do!
I had a small breakdown last night. I had a mental "mind" breakdown. Those are the kind you talk to yourself in your head....sort of a vent session with my head. (Okay...so now maybe I'm mental?) I was trying to give the rest of the family a break, so I kept it to myself.
Now they can all just read about it :)

Christmas is done almost 100% by me. I say almost because the money comes from my dear husband, but the grunt work of finding, deciding, wrapping and shipping comes from me. If you asked him, he would probably say he did the grunt work to begin with to get the money---it's an arguement that neither one of us would win!

Last night I baked 8 Dozen of my famous chocolate chip cookies (they are so good) for my dear daughter who tells me when she gets home she needs them, I made 6 batches of caramel popcorn, got all kids teacher gifs wrapped and I completed our NCL, Inc. Keller Chapter newsletter (I swear it's a 20 hour process to complete!). I felt like SUPERWOMAN!

Today I slept in : ) Superwoman was tired!
I'm getting read to take Brett to a doctor's appointment, then I'm home to put on my Superwoman cape to finish wrapping up neighbor gifts (those were done last week!), stopping off at the grocery store, making 30 jars of homemade salsa for gifts for Michael's employees, clean the downstairs tornado mess OMGoodness...it's really bad, and in between all this I have to start moving files from my old computer to a zip drive --it's getting wiped out tomorrow : (

I am happy to say that I have about 90% of the Christmas gifts done for the family. I just need to wrap them, and prepare some for shipping. Tomorrow my mom is coming out to finish her shopping, my shopping and shipping......I can't wait for it to be all over!!!
Merry Christmas??
